1 The Colluricinclidae previously made up of the genera Collurincla and Pitohui is largely subsumed here; but the pitohuis were non-monophyletic and the type species plus P. dichrous are transferred to the Oriolidae and P. cristatus moves to the Falcunculidae where it becomes Ornorectes cristatus. The two 'pitohuis' belong to the monotypic genera Melanorectes and Pseudorectes.

2 The genus Hylocitrea has been transferred to the Bombycillidae following Spellman et al. (2008) [Spellman, 2008 #11761]; Pachycare to the Acanthizidae following Norman et al. (2009) [Norman, 2009 #11985]; and following Schodde & Christidis (2014) [Schodde, 2014 #15669] Aleadryas to the Oreoicidae and Rhagologus to its own family.
