1 The genera Panurus and Paradoxornis were controversially given the subfamily name Panurinae instead of Paradoxornithinae by Deignan (1964) [Deignan, 1964 #1252] but the two genera are now disassociated with Paradoxornis in the Sylviidae and Panurus given its own family.
