Systematic Notes on Asian Birds
This began as a collaborative project of the National Museum of Natural History, Leiden and the Trust for Oriental Ornithology (the predecessor of the Trust for Avian Systematics). Over the period 2000-2010, a total of 76 research notes were published (totalling 1,246 pages); Naturalis Leiden published over 1,000 pages in Zoologische Verhandelingen and later Zoologische Mededelingen and these were printed and also made available as individual PDFs. They were soon made available as free downloads from the museum website. The first 48 notes were arranged by R.W.R.J. Dekker and ECD; 49-67 were arranged by ECD and D.R. Wells. After a gap the British Ornithologists’ Club published one issue of its Occasional Publications [OP] doing this in association with the Trust; this volume was edited by D.R. Wells alone.
